Special Medway Local Plan Info Meeting

A special public meeting will be held at 6:30pm at the Cross Park Pavilion on Monday 23rd September.

The Parish Council have invited Mr Dave Harris, the Medway Council Planning Manager to present information on the Medway Local Plan and answer questions.

The Local Plan covers many topics, but naturally people tend to concentrate on Housing provision. The Local Plan is aiming to be in place in 2026 (after a further round of consultation on the Draft version in Spring 2025) that will firm up on the policies bring proposed. The previous Local Plan was adopted in 2003, so leaves the Medway area open to speculative development.

A Local Plan covers : Vision and Strategic Objectives, Spatial Growth Options, The Natural Environment, The Built Environment, Housing, Economic Development, Retail and Town Centres, Transport, Health, Communuties and Infrastructure, Minerals Supply,Waste Management and Energy.
