The End of WW1 Centenary
6:00am – 8:00pm
Details
As part of national events to mark the end of World War 1, 100 years ago, Allhallows has planned a series of events for the day in the Church, the Village Hall and across the village from 6am in the morning to around 8pm in the evening..
These have been organised by the Friends of Allsaints in conjunction with the Parish Council.
There will also be an unveiling of a brand new plaque to commemorate the World War 1 airfield that was located just west of the village on Ratcliiffe Highway and behind the village hall and Baytree Farm (from 1916 to 1935).
A soldier silhouette has been installed at the entrance to the village (Stoke Road/Ratcliffe Highway/Avery Way Junction) and other short and long term recognition is also being investigated.
