Fly-Tipping is a major problem across the parish areas on the Hoo Peninsula, including Cliffe and Cliffe Woods and the rural country lanes. The law is that a residential waste collection service is provided by Medway Council with weekly collections and, Waste Recycling Centres are also provided. However commercial waste cannot be collected using these services (by law) and commercial collection services have to be arranged.

If commercial waste collection is used by businesses or residents, it is their responsibility to ensure the service is regulated and has the necessary licenses to perform the job - see that attached poster. If these checks are not carried out the resident or business can be fined (in the £thousands) as well as the waste collection service.

Help cut out illegal fly-tipping.
